New Lauderdale residents as well as residents who have relocated within the city or changed their name are encouraged to pre-register to vote. Simply visit the Secretary of State's website. This must be done at least 20 days before an election. By doing so, you will save time at the polls by not having to complete registration materials when lines are longer and demands on election judges are greater.

If you wait until Election Day to register, you must prove you live in Lauderdale by showing your Minnesota driver's license or ID card. If your current address is not on your license or ID card, you must present a utility bill that shows your name and current address in the precinct. Utility bills that can be used include gas, electric, water, cable TV, cell phone, solid waste, or sewer bills. You may also verify your residency by bringing a registered Lauderdale voter to vouch for you.
